The hike to the teahouse offers dramatic views of a glacial valley, with several towering peaks above you. The 5.6km trail gains about 360m of elevation. A large portion of the hike is in exposed terrain,so remember to bring water and dress for the conditions!
The trail head is located at the public parking lot for the Chateau Lake Louise. You will then walk 2km around the lake to the very back of it. Continue up the trail, following the markers for about another 3.6km. Once you pass the switch backs, you are almost there!
Keep your eyes peeled along the way for the wildlife that call this place home. Goats, sheep, pika, marmots and bears are just a few to mention. Familiarize yourself in animal safety in the back country-and have a fantastic hike!
The Teahouse offers a menu of light lunches, desserts, and beverages. Everything is homemade right here with the supplies that have been flown up by helicopter twice a year, or hiked up on the employees backs! Because of the fact that the teahouse is completely off the grid (no electricity), we are CASH ONLY.
We will open for the season in early June, and will close for the season on Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. Hours will be from 9:00am - 5:00pm.
